DeleteI do like movies -- it is one of the ways that I relax. I saw a movie by Akira Kurosawa when I was a teenager, and he has been one of my favorite directors ever since. He first got me interested in Japanese culture.

ReplyDeleteI have also never seen this movie before. The remake version of this movie was made some years ago, by famous movie director Takeshi Kitano.

DeleteYes, I heard that Takeshi Kitano made a version a of this film, but I have not seen it. For me, the character of "Zatoichi" is embodied by the actor, KATSU Shintaro, and I could not imagine someone else playing the character. I recommend watching these movies, if you can. The first one, 座頭市物語, is one of my favorite movies, and several others in the series are very good as well.
